Whole British free range chicken from DEFRA approved farms

When most other foods claim to use ‘fresh chicken’, they are using carcasses that have been stripped of meat, and they usually add ‘chicken meal’, which is pre-processed dried chicken. All our chickens are free range and cruelty free.

Our ingredients are all human grade, we never used stripped carcass or add meat meal, and we work closely with our farmers to ensure McAdams chickens have the highest possible welfare.

Can I switch straight away?

Yes, your lucky dog will be grateful if you switch when you can. We recommend switching over the course of a few days and phasing them onto McAdams Food. Our recipes are super digestible and transition period minimises the chance of any stomach upsets as they adjust to a new nutritious diet.

From funding rainforest preservation projects to introducing more recyclable packaging, we’re proudly carbon neutral. But we won’t stop there when it comes to sustainable practices. Is McAdams pet food bags recyclable?

As an ethical pet food company, we’re always looking at practical ways we can reduce our carbon footprint even further. McAdams’ products are packed in boxes that are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), then padded with reused shredded cardboard and sealed with paper tape. 90% of our packaging is totally recyclable, and we will be at 100% by 2023.

Is McAdams meats & Fish sustainable?

As an ethical pet food company, you can be sure the chicken and turkey we use is free range and from ethical farms. It’s 100% real meat too – meaning we never use stripped carcass or add meat meal. We work closely with farmers to ensure high welfare standards – all our farms are approved and inspected. We also only use Norwegian Salmon that’s certified and been given it’s ASC approved label.

Are green lipped mussels good for Dogs & Cats?

New Zealand is home to green-lipped mussels where they’re abundant on the rocks around its coastline. They’re a fantastic source of glucosamine, chondroitin and marine lipids, which are important for healthy joints, so we gently bake them with our free range chicken and turkey.
